Research to find the most effective way to stop smoking was carried out by the university of Iowa, scientists analyzed the results of more than 600 studies of almost 72,000 people from America and Europe who had used different methods to quit smoking. Hypnosis was consistently found to be the most effective method. The research was published in New Scientist magazine in 1992.
